T. L. Haecker papers, 1914-1934. <bulk 1920-1927>

The collection comprises leaves of a scrapbook, annotated by Haecker, with an official photograph; a picture postcard of Haecker Hall on the University of Minnesota St. Paul Campus, a "Tribute" by the Board of Directors of the National Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation; and letters from University of Minnesota President Vincent and from an uncle of Haecker's. A supplement to the collection includes papers from Haecker's work in Wisconsin, including a letter-press of outgoing corresponcence (1874-88), much of which deals with the development of the Patrons Benevolent Aid Society (an insurance cooperative for Wisconsin Grange members). Haecker's work to build the dairy herd for the University of Wisconsin experimental farm is included here. Finally, there is a small file of miscellaneous papers, including personal correspondence involving a land sale to the Milwaukee & Madison Railway, and a land purchase from Haecker's father-in-law.

T.L. Haecker began as an executive clerk to the governor of Wisconsin (1874-91). He came to the University of Minnesota in 1891 as an instructor in dairying. In 1903 he became Professor of Dairy Husbandry, and in 1907, added the title of Professor of Animal Nutrition. He retired in 1918. From the description of T. L.
